A free vector and pixel graphics editor in your browser
Scissor is a free vector and pixel graphics editor that runs entirely in your web browser. There is no install, no account and no upload: your artwork is created, edited and saved on your own device. Draw with the pen and shape tools, set type, paint on pixel layers, trace images into vectors and export SVG, PDF, PNG, JPEG or WebP.
What you can do
- Draw with pen, curvature, pencil and shape tools; edit Bézier paths and live shapes.
- Set type on a point, in an area and on a path, with OpenType features and a glyphs panel.
- Work with layers, groups, masks and clipping.
- Fill with solid colours, gradients, meshes and patterns, and recolour artwork.
- Apply live, non-destructive effects - shadows, glows, blur, distort, warp and 3D.
- Trace a raster image into editable vectors, and paint on pixel layers.
- Lay out on orthogonal, isometric, hexagonal, oblique, golden and perspective grids.
- Open SVG, PDF, EPS, .ai and PSD; export SVG, PDF, PNG, JPEG and WebP.
- Work offline and install it as an app; your work stays on your device.
Questions
Is Scissor free?
Yes. Scissor is completely free, with no account, no sign-up and no subscription. Everything runs in your browser.
Is Scissor a full-featured vector editor?
Scissor is a free, browser-based vector editor with a comparable toolset: a pen and curvature tool, editable Bézier paths and live shapes, type on a point, in an area and on a path, layers, masks, gradient and pattern fills, live effects, image trace and more. It reads PDF and .ai files and exports SVG, PDF, PNG, JPEG and WebP.
Does my artwork get uploaded to a server?
No. Documents are created, edited and saved on your own device. A document only leaves it if you choose to send it: attached to a problem report, or shared with the people in a Studio.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Scissor opens in any modern browser. You can also install it as a Progressive Web App and use it offline.
What file formats does Scissor open and export?
Scissor opens SVG, PDF, EPS, .ai and PSD files, and exports SVG, PDF, PNG, JPEG and WebP. It saves its own documents as .cut files.
Can Scissor trace an image into vectors?
Yes. Scissor can trace a raster image into editable vector paths, and it also has pixel layers for painting and light raster work alongside your vector art.
What languages is Scissor available in?
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Finnish and Swedish. Scissor follows your browser's language, and you can switch from the globe button in the menu bar, on the welcome screen or in Preferences.
Can Scissor transform or distort part of a photo?
Yes. Select part of a photo with a marquee, or a whole pixel layer, and move, scale, rotate, free-distort or put it in perspective with the Free Transform tool. A quick preview follows the drag, and the full-resolution result is applied when you press Enter.
Can I use Scissor offline?
Yes. Once loaded, Scissor works offline and can be installed as an app, because it runs entirely on your device with no server.
